Python for Kids India

A student-led program introducing students in India and the United States to Python through online lessons, coding activities, and small-group support.

Learning Python Through Practice

Python for Kids conducted four workshops: three winter workshops with KRA school partners in India and one summer workshop for U.S. students in 2024. Together, these workshops accounted for approximately 140 student participations. Each workshop included five to six sessions.

Founders Shaadana Rajesh and Sanah Rajesh created the full beginner Python curriculum, including lesson slides and coding activities. Students explored variables, input/output, lists, dictionaries, conditionals, loops, and functions through guided exercises and creative assignments such as menus, math quizzes, chatbots, and games.

Lesson slides and technology tutorials provided resources students could revisit between classes.

Student Instructors, Human Connection

Shaadana Rajesh helped found Python for Kids and led its student teaching team. Nine instructors contributed across the program’s history, combining live demonstrations with small-group coding support.

Shaadana Rajesh mentored fellow instructors and coordinated scheduling, class communications, and additional review time.

The original teaching format used breakout groups of six to eight students with one instructor.

Workshops Across Two Countries

The two earlier Indian winter workshops served 31 and 33 students, with four schools involved across those workshops. The summer 2024 U.S. workshop served 26 students, excluding instructors.

The December 2025–January 2026 workshop with KRA school partners served approximately 50 students and had the highest attendance.
